The central figure (made from a railroad spike) supports a spiral galaxy-shaped piece that is hammered from a single bar of scrap steel. The figures dancing on the galaxy are made by chopping railroad spikes in half. Each spike makes two dancers. The galaxy rotates freely on the central figure, and the work is painted using enamel paint. To see how to care for the sculpture, please refer to “Care of painted artwork” on the “About the Artwork” page. The sculpture is not a toy, and contains sharp parts. For that reason, it should be kept out of reach of children.

The sculpture weighs 1.44 kg (a little over 3 pounds) and is 6 inches tall. The spiral is 18 ½ by 9 ½ inches across.  The figures are all balanced on each other (the parts are not welded together), so instructions for assembly will be included with purchas

All of the profits from the sale of this item go toward supporting research on the human biome.
