Knife Fork Spoon Set With 3Swirl Hanger

290.00

This hanger is designed to be mounted on a wall, and includes mounting screws that match the hanger in color.  The correct orientation of the hanger is shown in the first photo, with the central bar in a diagonal position, slanting upward from left to right. The three utensils are functional items, and the knife is sharp, so it must be kept out of reach of children. The fork is made from an old scrap of iron fence, the spoon from a railroad spike, and the knife from a scrap of tool steel. The finish on this piece is unusual: It starts with a traditional hot wax finish traditionally used by blacksmiths to achieve the black color and protect the metal, but then it’s coated with clear enamel paint.  For the care and use of the knife, please see “Care and use of Literally Sharp Art” on the “About the Art” page. In addition, please refer to “Care of painted artwork” on the “About the Artwork” page preserving the finish on the artwork.

The weight of all three pieces is 829 grams (about 1 pound, 13 ounces). The hanger is 9 inches wide by 3 ½ inches tall. The knife is 16 inches long, the fork is 11.75 inches long, and the spoon is 10 inches long.

All of the profits from the sale of this item go toward supporting research on the human biome.
