Sawblade Cake Knife

180.00

This is a very lightweight cake knife (114 grams or 4 ounces) made from an old hand saw blade. Despite its light weight, it is quite long, at 16 ½ inches. The stand is hammered from one steel bar, and is painted (enamel paint) in a way that matches the purpleheart wood handle of the knife. The handle is the natural color of the wood (unstained), and is affixed to the blade with brass pins and coated with a polyurethane varnish to prevent scratching.

This piece of “Literally Sharp Art” is a very sharp and functional kitchen utensil, and should, of course, be kept out of reach of children. It is designed to sit on a shelf or countertop for display. For the care and use of the knife, please see “Care and use of Literally Sharp Art” on the “About the Art” page.

The stand weights 370 grams (13 ounces) and is 12 inches long. To see how to care for the stand, please refer to “Care of painted artwork” on the “About the Artwork” page.
